About
Oh Dang, Really? is an independent news desk with one beat: government misconduct, tracked daily. Cops who crossed the line, officials who got caught, and the surveillance programs nobody voted for.
What we cover
Every story on this site is about accountability — officers fired or charged, prosecutors and prison staff who broke the law they enforce, and government surveillance programs like automated license plate readers and location tracking. When a body camera shows one thing and a report says another, we think you should know about it.
How we work
Every story cites its sources — court records, agency statements, and established news reporting, linked at the bottom of each article. We report charges as charges, convictions as convictions, and state the presumption of innocence on every case that hasn’t been decided. We don’t do rumors. When a story is still moving, it goes in our Developing section with a dated update log, and it stays honest about what’s known and what’s still being watched.
The video desk
Each story also ships as a short documentary on our YouTube channel — built from the same court records, bodycam footage, and booking photos the sources are drawn from. New stories land daily.
