Christopher Tyler: Orangeburg Cop Charged For Punching Handcuffed Man At County Jail

Former Orangeburg Department of Public Safety officer Christopher Tyler, 35, is charged with second-degree battery after investigators say he punched a handcuffed arrestee in the face and slammed him into a brick wall twice at the Orangeburg County Detention Center. Jail cameras recorded the incident from multiple angles. Tyler was fired three days later, and SLED arrested him a month after that. He was booked into the same jail where it happened.
