Two TDCJ Workers Arrested Same Week At San Antonio Jail, Improper Relationship Charges
Two employees at the same San Antonio state jail were arrested within days of each other this month — both accused of crossing the line with people in custody.

Bianca Lopez, a TDCJ inventory specialist with more than a decade at the Dominguez State Jail, was arrested September 17, 2026 on a civil-rights charge. According to a warrant affidavit, investigators documented five encounters between Lopez and an inmate — the last of them inside a commissary closet on the unit.

Days later, 25-year-old Miranda Barrientes-Sedilo was booked into the Bexar County jail on charges including improper relationship with a person in custody. She was held on a $25,000 bond.

Two employees. One unit. The same week.

Both cases remain pending, and no trial dates have been announced. TDCJ’s Office of Inspector General investigates allegations of staff misconduct inside Texas prisons, and improper relationship with a person in custody is a felony under Texas law.
