A federal grand jury in Florence, South Carolina indicted former FCI Bennettsville correctional officer Joseph Templeton on bribery, money laundering, and drug distribution charges. Prosecutors say he took more than $60,000 in bribes from an inmate and associates, then smuggled cellphones, tobacco, and THC into the prison — processing the items as contraband seizures before handing them out. He was first arrested in December with over $100,000 worth of contraband and narcotics in his possession. Investigators: DOJ-OIG, FBI Columbia, and the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office.
