Undercover Cops Deceived Women For 40 Years – Prosecutors May Finally Charge 12

The UK spycops scandal may finally produce its first criminal charges. The Crown Prosecution Service is examining a file of evidence on 12 former undercover officers — including Mark Kennedy, who infiltrated more than 1,000 political groups while living as “Mark Stone” — over relationships with women they spied on. This video traces how the scandal unfolded: the fake identity of Mark Stone, Kate Wilson’s landmark tribunal victory, Helen Steel and the £2.5 million the Met spent hiding her former partner, and the admission that police monitored the family of Stephen Lawrence.

After three no-charge decisions (2014, 2018, 2023), this is the first time the evidence file reaches prosecutors with the officers’ own conduct in view. Kate Wilson’s lawyer called it “unprecedented.”
