A Kansas judge dismissed every charge against Wyandotte County deputy Richard Fatherley in the case of Charles Adair — a 50-year-old wheelchair user booked over misdemeanor traffic warrants who never came home from the county jail. The DA tried to disqualify all 16 county judges from the case, and failed. The deputy was never arrested and stayed home on unpaid leave the entire time. His county email stayed active for seven months after charges — including contact with possible witnesses. The family watched the officer-worn camera video and called it devastating. The public still has not seen it. The DA is now appealing.
